More Stuff...
It's hard to see in this picture, but I got this Gap denim dress for Maggie on my thrift store shopping spree this week as well for just $2.00!! It is so cute on her...not to mention the brand new Gap camel ribbed tights she has on that I snagged at a yard sale last Spring for $ .50.
This $3.00 thrift store find has already (in just three days) provided so much fun for the kids. Robbie will just sit in there and pretend to drive for at least 15 minutes at a time.

One of My Thrift Store Finds...

This is one of "my finds" from my shopping day with Carissa. I got "Robbie's car" for just $3.00!! Robbie absolutely loves it! He hasn't figured out how to move it with his feet yet, but he loves to sit in there and turn the wheel - making his "vroom" noises.

Carissa's Birthday
For Carissa's birthday, we decided to go to Green Bay for the day and do the two things we do best: EAT & SHOP. I took her to a great sushi place in Green Bay...yummmmmmy!! I finally got to satisfy my pregnancy craving! The theme of our day was "thrift store shopping." We hit several thrift stores in Green Bay and Appleton...what awesome deals we found!!! I found so many Gap clothes for the kids. We had so much fun!!
Of course, we had to stop at Starbucks for a little mid-afternoon pick-me-up!

We went to Chili's in Appleton for dinner, and they brought Carissa an ice cream sundae for her birthday.
Levi was the only child who came with us...he was sooo good all day.

Trip to Illinois
We all were able to go with Rob to the Illinois Harvest Rally in Rochelle, IL last weekend. It was so nice to be able to have a mini-vacation together before the busy camp recruiting season. I had planned to take the kids to a nearby apple orchard/petting zoo while Rob was at the Harvest Rally, but had to change our plans when the weather called for rain all day!! I found a Children's Museum in Rockford, IL (about 30 minutes away), so I took the kids there for the day. We had such a great time. I am so thankful for the fun weekend we had!

Robbie looked so funny looking out through this "magnified window."

He really loved this...

They had phones all over that kids could use to call other phones...Madeline loved being able to use the phone.

Robbie sat in his stroller working on this apple most of the time at the museum.

Helping with Dinner

The girls loved helping me get the green beans ready to cook for dinner. They really are getting pretty good at helping...well, most of the time. Maggie actually took her first shower by herself today - that is a huge step...how nice that will be to have to give one less bath!!:)

Robbie's First Steps
We actually got pictures of one of our children's "first steps." Robbie took five steps on Friday morning. He hasn't done much since, but I am sure it is not far away. He is 15 months - pretty much on track for the Fipps' children so far.

Happy Birthday Grandma Shell!
Today was Blue Day in Maggie's class. They have been learning about police officers this week, and so they had to dress in blue. Then, in class they made hats and badges. Of course, our family didn't want to be left out - Daddy, Mommy, Madeline and Robbie all dressed in blue too. This is Maggie's "officer face."
This is Maggie's "nice officer face."
Maggie has been wanting to learn how to sew for awhile now...I think it started when we saw all of the kids' 4-H projects at the fair we went to. Saturday she picked out some fabric, and I showed her how to do some hand stitches - she made a "pocket." She was so excited.
Robbie has a fascination for putting on sunglasses. Rob walked in Robbie's room this morning, and Robbie had these pink sunglasses on. So, of course we had to take a picture of Daddy and Robbie in their cool gear.
"Get big Robbie!"
My little fashionista...I was switching out Madeline's summer clothes for her fall/winter clothes today, and she was "helping" me. She decided to put together an outfit of her own - at least she got the colors right...those are tights if you can't tell from the picture.

Rob was wrestling with Robbie on the floor one evening, and Maggie decided to "do Daddy's hair." She had just about every bow we own on his head.

For "firefighters week" at school, Maggie made this graham cracker fire truck. She had to take a picture of it and send it to Daddy (who was traveling) so that he could see it (so she could eat it!).
Some of our friends, John and Kristen Ball, were visiting the area while on deputation to go to Uruguay. Our kids are similar ages (in fact we have been pregnant together three times now!), so we got together for a little play date. Fun times! Here is Robbie and Jake watching Baby Einsteins.

Me and Kristen...wish she lived closer.
We were playing Whac-A-Mole one night, and Robbie decided he wanted in on the action. Typical boy - he is very good with a hammer!!!

Maggie likes the new show on PBS called "Sid the Science Guy." On one episode, they were doing scientific observations using charts. She proceeded to make several charts...this one tracks the snacks that each family member eats every day...she came up with this convicting chart all on her own!:)
During her first week of school, her teacher gave them each a piece of construction paper and told the students to make anything they wanted with it...some kids made paper airplanes, hats, etc. Maggie made a "To Do List." I wonder where she gets that from?
We were in Dairy Queen the other day, and there was a decorated coffee can on the counter telling about a little girl from the area who has cancer and is in a hospital in Milwaukee. I saw Maggie reading the can, but we didn't talk about it. After we ate our ice cream and got in the car, Maggie said to me..."Mommy if I get to pick a prize out of the prize box at school this week, I want to take it and put it in that can for that little girl at Dairy Queen." I said that was very thoughtful, and then went on to explain to her that that can was for money, since she probably had a lot of doctor bills, etc. She decided she wanted to take her money that she had been saving for a Fancy Nancy book to put in the can. We also had a good talk about what would happen if that little girl were to die without knowing Jesus. She has been praying for her to come to know Jesus and for her to be healed. It has been exciting to see her compassion grow recently, as that has been something that I had been praying for in her.

Robbie outside...always watching the girls play from afar...one of these days he will be running after them! But, until then, I am content with him just crawling!!;)
